VILLAGE OF BLACK EARTH (WKOW) – The Dane County Sheriff's Office says an electrical issue caused a fire in a vacant home in the Village of Black Earth on Sunday.
A Dane County Sheriff's deputy observed fire and smoke coming from a house on the 1200 block of Mills Street around 3:12 a.m. Authorities immediately checked the house and no one was inside.
Fire departments responded and limited the fire to the front porch and roof area of the home.
Authorities said the preliminary investigation indicated that the fire was caused by an electrical issue, but it remains under investigation.
Officials said there were no injuries and the damage estimates are unknown at this time.
