Zina Haughton's brother speaks out after Brookfield spa shooting

BROOKFIELD (WKOW) -- The brother-in-law of the man who went on a deadly rampage at a Brookfield spa is pushing for stricter gun control laws.

Elvin Daniel is the brother of Zina Haughton. Zina's husband, Radcliffe, killed her and two other women last month.

Daniel has been caring for Zina's 13-year-old daughter, whom he officially got custody of Tuesday.

Daniel says of the girl, "She's coping with it better than all of us -- to the point where I asked her, I said: 'You see us all falling apart around you, teach me what do you know.' She's just got an amazingly strong personality."

Daniel says, "Radcliffe committed a horrendous and monstrous act, killing three people and wounding four others, but he was not a monster. Rad was a sick man that chose not to seek help."

Daniel says he saw Zina and Radcliffe Haughton at least once a month and didn't notice anything was wrong in their marriage.

He says even though he's a supporter of the NRA, he'll advocate for tighter gun laws in the future.
