MIDDLETON (WKOW) -- Thousands of area families need help this thanksgiving, and local food pantries will once again be providing meals to those who need help.
Middleton Outreach Ministry says they still need lots of food donated so they can provide thanksgiving meals to hundreds of families in the Middleton-Cross Plains area. They also serve smaller basket meals to seniors and individuals with disabilities.
Cheri Farha, manager of MOM's distribution center, says there are many families in the area that need help during the holidays.
"We have not really seen it lessen," Farha said. "We've seen people maybe finding work, but they're still not able to make ends meet. Sometimes they'll get jobs that are seasonal or they run out of time or contracts or whatever. So, need is great."
Farha says MOM can use help with all types of thanksgiving food donations. For more information click here.
The Goodman Community Center in Madison says over 2,000 families have already registered to receive thanksgiving baskets this year.
The center is looking for help in a variety of ways. The center says you can donate food or money, organize a food drive, or volunteer. For more information click here.
The River Food Pantry needs your help providing turkeys this year. There are no turkeys available this year from their partner food banks, so they're asking the public to help donate.
The panty has set a goal of collecting 1000 turkeys to give away on Thanksgiving. The pantry is also looking for monetary donations. For more information click here.
