MADISON (WKOW) -- Funding has been approved for an atheist organization at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
The group is called Atheists, Humanists, and Agnostics.
UW-Madison's Student Services Finance Committee approved about $67,000 to fund the group in the next academic year. Student fees will go towards funding it.
The national Secular Student Alliance says it appears to be the largest funding awarded to such a campus organization. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the student council, chancellor and regents must still approve the funding.
