MADISON (WKOW) -- The Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce board of directors announced Thursday its new president is Zach Brandon.
The 39-year-old Brandon replaces Jennifer Alexander, who is retiring from the position after nearly nine years.
Brandon is a small business owner in Madison and the father of three.
He was a three-term City of Madison alder and former Deputy Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Commerce under Governor. Jim Doyle. He has also served as the head of the Wisconsin Angel Network, which promotes early stage investment in business.
In a statement sent out by Brandon Thursday afternoon, the incoming chamber president said, "Your Chamber will be aggressive in forging a climate that recruits, retains and grows employers and the jobs they create."
