TDS donates van to River Food Pantry

MADISON (WKOW) -- An area food pantry will be able to collect more food for the community a little easier now.

TDS Telecommunications Corporation donated a cargo van to the River Food Pantry on Thursday.

And with the holiday season here, Andy Czerkas, the food pantry's director, says this will help tremendously.

"We're really happy about it," Czerkas said. "You know there's a huge need out there today still; it hasn't really abated. We'll be flooded with people here in the next few days here for Thanksgiving and any help that we can get along these lines is just fantastic."

The River Food Pantry serves over 2,600 Dane County families every month.

On Tuesday, the pantry will be giving away turkeys to families in need.
