2 killed, 3 hurt in Marathon County head-on collision

BEVENT (WKOW) – Authorities in Marathon County said two people are dead and three are injured after a van collided head-on with an SUV.

The Wisconsin State Patrol said the head-on collision happened Friday afternoon near Bevent, which is about 20 miles southeast of Wausau.

Officials said all lanes of traffic were blocked while the crash-reconstruction team investigated.  The lanes have all been reopened.

According to our sister station WAOW-TV, the victims' names have not been released at this time.
