PORT WASHINGTON (WKOW) -- A judge set bail at $500 for the man accused of pretending to be a newspaper reporter and trying to meet up with high school girls.
Sixty-eight-year-old Gary Medrow appeared in Ozaukee County court Monday via video conference. He's charged with two counts of telephone harassment and two counts of disorderly conduct after authorities say he posed as a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter on the phone with teenage girls.
Prosecutors asked that Medrow's bail be set at $4,000, but the judge set it at $500, with the provision that he cannot use a cell phone.
Medrow is allowed to use a landline phone if he is calling for emergency purposes or to speak to someone he knows as long as that person is over the age of 18.
The 68-year-old is scheduled for a plea hearing on December 5.
