CHICAGO (WKOW) -- Thanksgiving travelers are dealing with a few headaches on the busiest travel day of the year. Several flights have been canceled and even more have been delayed in Chicago's airports. The reason: intense fog.
According to flightstats.com, 90 inbound and outbound flights were canceled and more than 400 have been delayed at O'Hare and Midway airports.
National Weather Service meteorologists say the visibility is near zero due to fog. O'Hare is not the only airport dealing with the issue. Authorities say Midway is also experiencing delays.
The Chicago Department of Aviation says it expects 1.8 million passengers to move through the two airports in the week between November 20 and 27. Sunday is expected to be the busiest day, when O'Hare alone could see more than a quarter million travelers.
