MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police say a man arrested last week for bail jumping is the primary suspect in a recent string of armed robberies at convenience stores.
Officials arrested 42-year-old Joseph Finney III, of Madison and Milwaukee, on November 20 in the downtown area after police say he tried to sell a laptop computer to people dining in a West Gorham Street restaurant. Finney was told to leave as police were called regarding the suspicious behavior.
Finney was taken into custody on bail jumping charges. Police say he claimed the computer he was selling belonged to a girlfriend.
Finney has now been identified as the primary suspect in the armed robberies of four convenience stores in Madison earlier this month.
