MADISON (WKOW) -- Shortly after 9:00 Tuesday night, the Walgreens pharmacy on Cottage Grove Road received an unusual call.
The man on the phone stated he had a gun and told the 60-year-old pharmacist he could see him. The suspect instructed the pharmacist to put Oxycontin in a bag and place the bag in the drive-thru drop box.
The victim stated, based on what he was being told, the person was really watching him. He followed instructions and watched as a slender man in a dark sweater ran across the parking lot. The white male suspect stood about 5'8" to 5'10", 140-160 pounds was also wearing a baseball cap.
The suspect grabbed the prescription opiates and took off. A police dog was able to track the man north to Martha Lane, but the scent abruptly ended.
