VERONA (WKOW) -- It's not unheard of, but it is unusual for golfers in southern Wisconsin to enjoy a round with temperatures near 50 in December.
It happened Saturday, as many local golfers played courses, some of which are re-opening.
Hawks Landing, in Verona, opened Saturday with plans to stay open through Tuesday as temperatures are expected to remain well above average.
The head pro at Hawks Landing says it's great for local golf lovers.
"It's a big bonus, cause the course is in such good shape and the price is right," said PGA pro Rich Bartley. "But I think they're, more than anything, just happy to get out."
Bartley says he's not terribly surprised to be open this late in the year, because he's seen the weather change like this before.
"But people play in anything really," he said. "If you kept it open in the middle of winter, snow blowing the fairways, I bet they'd be out there."
Hawks Landing says it's booked solid Sunday, when temperatures are expected to be in the upper 50s.
