WASHINGTON, D.C. (WKOW) -- Saturday marked World Aids Day.
Observances were held across the country.
At the White House, officials displayed a large red ribbon on the north portico.
The red ribbon is an international symbol of support for and awareness of the disease.
Thirty years into the aids epidemic, much progress has been made in treating the disease, but many more people continue to be infected.
