1 killed, 3 injured in Rock County crash

ROCK COUNTY (WKOW) – One person is dead and three people are injured after a single-vehicle rollover crash early Sunday morning.

Authorities say a pickup truck with four occupants was on the ramp to I-39 southbound from USH 14.  As the vehicle approached the interstate from the ramp lane, officials say the driver accelerated and the tires lost traction on the wet pavement causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

Authorities say the pickup went sideways and down into the right ditch which caused it to rollover twice.  The vehicle went through a chain link fence and eventually came to rest on its tires.

Officials say the front right passenger was ejected and fatally injured.  Three of the four occupants were not seat belted in.  Three of the four occupants were injured with non-life threatening injuries and were transported by ambulance to a hospital.

Authorities released the ages of the men involved in the crash. A 30-year-old male from Janesville was killed in the crash.  The driver of the pickup truck, a 31-year-old male from Stoughton was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Janesville.  A 30-year-old male from Stoughton was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Janesville.  A 27-year-old male from Janesville was taken to Mercy Hospital in Janesville.
