Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- A 28-year old man called for police Saturday afternoon claiming an acquaintance had just stolen his money, and that another man had pointed a handgun at him.

The victim stated the acquaintance had called asking for a ride.  He was unable to provide a name or nickname for the man, but said he picked him up in the 700 block of University Avenue.

He went on to say the man reached into his pocket, took his money, got out, and started to run.  The victim gave chase and ended near Broom and Mifflin Streets.

He terminated his pursuit when a gun wielding man wearing ski goggles, approached him.

According to the victim, the person with the gun threatened to kill him.  That's when the victim returned to his car and contacted authorities.

The victim described the suspect who stole his money as a black man in his late 20's, about 5'8", 180-190 pounds, average build, with trimmed beard and moustache.  He was last seen wearing a black sweat suit and black tennis shoes.

The other suspect is described as a black male wearing a tan jacket, black jeans, a ski mask and ski goggles, and carrying a handgun.
