UPDATE: Sun Prairie colonel promoted to brigadier general

MADISON (WKOW) -- Colonel Gary Ebben was promoted to the rank of brigadier general during a pinning ceremony at the Wisconsin State Capitol.

Governor Scott Walker formally promoted Colonel Ebben December 5. Ebben is from Sun Prairie. According to the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs, he served more than three decades with the Wisconsin Air National Guard, enlisting as an air operations specialist with the 176th Tactical Air Support Squadron in Madison.

Ebben formally assumed his new responsibilities as Assistant Adjutant for Air December 21st.

MADISON (WKOW) -- Governor Scott Walker will be at a National Guard ceremony Wednesday at the State Capitol.

The governor will attend a pinning ceremony in the Senate Chamber to honor a new general officer of the Wisconsin National Guard.

The ceremony is at 3:00 p.m.
