MADISON (WKOW) -- The Madison Concourse Hotel and the Governor's Club commit to sustainability and earn Travel Green Wisconsin certifications.
Energy tracking software, energy management systems and purchasing local food are a few of the ways the Madison Concourse Hotel and the Governor's Club commit to sustainability.
The Madison Concourse Hotel joins over 350 Travel Green Wisconsin certified events, attractions, and destinations.
"We're thrilled to recognize The Madison Concourse Hotel and Governor's Club for sustainable practices that lead to Travel Green Wisconsin certification," said Tourism Secretary Stephanie Klett.
"The variety of innovative practices the hotel has implemented is impressive and continues to raise the bar and serve as an excellent role model for other businesses," said Klett.
The Madison Concourse Hotel and the Governor's Club have a new ozone laundry system and hotel water heater. This saves over 400,000 gallons of water per year and reduces their carbon footprint by over 200,000 pounds of CO2 per year.
The hotel asks that guests reuse linens and towels to help their efforts.
