SHAWANO (WKOW) -- A Shawano County judge sentenced 21-year-old Joshua Johnson, accused of killing his father, to life in a mental institution Thursday.
The court accepted Johnson's not guilty by reason of mental disease in October. Authorities say Johnson shot, stabbed and beat his 53-year-old father, Donald Johnson, in February.
The defense called doctors to testify that Johnson suffers from paranoid schizophrenia. His placement at a mental facility is still being worked out, according to the district attorney.
