Fire destroys garage, damages Madison home

MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison fire crews responded to a house fire that caused at least $100,000 in damage on Sunday night.

Fire officials say a single family home on High Point Road on Madison's west side caught fire around 7:30 p.m. The flames started in the garage, but heat and smoke damage spread throughout the home. Two cars in the garage were destroyed.

Two people were home at the time, but escaped with no injuries.

Fire investigators are looking into what started the blaze.
