MADISON (WKOW) -- Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch helped kick-off a campaign to help keep people in need warm this winter.
People are encouraged to donate hats, scarves, gloves, coats and other winter gear for this year's Bundle Up Campaign. It runs through January 4th. The Wisconsin Department of Tourism has set up nearly 80 drop-off spots at tourism locations across the state.
"This is a time of year that's really important for everybody to think about our community, the people that live in our community, how we can help them," says Deb Archer, president of the Greater Madison Convention and Visitors Bureau (GMCVB). "We certainly try to help people outside our community but we're all good community stewards and we care about our community."
Last year's effort brought in more than 3-thousand winter items for Wisconsin charities. Donations can be taken to GMCVB.
