MCFARLAND (WKOW) -- The McFarland teenager diagnosed with cancer will meet superstar Justin Bieber.
Aly Wolff's friends started a social media campaign that now has more than 12,000 Facebook likes. The campaign, #biebsmeetaly, has exploded on YouTube and Twitter.
Early Tuesday, Aly received a call from Chicago radio station B96 saying she would meet Justin Bieber at his concert Saturday."Katie screamed and I kind of just froze and didn't know what to say...it was pretty exciting though," she said.
Her friends, Ariel Arneson and Katie Broadway, who started the online push were also surprised. "I'm in shock, to be honest," Arneson told WKOW.
Wolff has Neuroendocrine cancer, which is rare. The McFarland native was diagnosed after her freshman year at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. "I don't know how I'm going to act or what I'm going to do," Wolff said about meeting Bieber.
Aly was 19 when the campaign started. The girls hoped Wolff could meet Bieber at his Milwaukee concert in October, but their short term Twitter campaign didn't work. They decided to try again. "People are still submitting the pictures, even after the fact that they know Aly gets to meet Justin which is really cool," Broadway said.
Aly turned 20 Tuesday, the day she got the call saying Bieber would meet with her at his Chicago concert.
