Vos says Assembly won't raise per diems

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- Wisconsin lawmakers won't be getting more money to pay for daily expenses.

Incoming state Assembly Speaker Robin Vos says they will still get the $88 per day available to cover hotels and meals when they come to Madison.

Those who live in or close to Madison will get $44 a day.

Vos had earlier said Assembly leaders were talking about increasing per diem reimbursements, which are on top of their $49,943 annual salary.

Republicans who control the Senate have said they will not be raising the per diem.
