TORRANCE, CA (WKOW) -- There's a massive recall of Honda SUVs, because the key can be removed when the vehicle is in motion.
The recall affects more than 800,000 vehicles including Honda Odyssey minivans, and Pilot SUVs from model years 2003 and 2004.
Acura MDX SUVs from 2003 to 2006 are also being recalled.
The company says it should be impossible to pull the key out of the ignition unless the car is in park.
But in these vehicles, the mechanism that locks the key in place can wear out.
The company says it will begin contacting affected customers in February with an offer to fix their vehicles free of charge.
