TREGO, WIS (WKOW) -- Business leaders in northern Wisconsin met with Governor Scott Walker and all eight cabinet secretaries Thursday.
One of the main talking points of the meeting was about a potential iron ore mine in the area.
Governor Walker says it could bring 2,000-3,000 jobs to northern Wisconsin.
"You've got to have a streamlined process. If a company is going to invest a billion and a half dollars for anything, let alone mining, they want to know the process that starts today is going to be the same at the end of the process. They don't want to put that kind of money up and invest in those kind of jobs if they think things are going to change," said Walker.
Another big topic to help develop business in northern Wisconsin was increasing high speed internet access to compete in the global economy.
