UPDATE: Teen gets probation after arrow accident

FOND DU LAC (WKOW) -- 17-year-old Casey Bennett, of Campbellsport, pleaded no contest Monday to a felony count of injury by negligent use of a weapon and a misdemeanor count of resisting an officer.

Bennett was convicted of shooting an arrow that pierced a seven-year-old girl in the back.  He was sentenced to three years probation.

The teen says he was shooting at squirrels in May when a stray arrow struck Aryanna Schneeberg in the back.  Prosecutors say he initially denied the incident and didn't come forward because he was scared.

The arrow sliced through the little girl's spleen, stomach, diaphragm, and lung before stopping at her liver.
