BELOIT (WKOW) -- The Beloit Police Dept is investigating over 100 cemetery vase thefts.
Officials say the investigation began Monday when the police department was notified of the missing grave markers at East Lawn Cemetery. They say bronze vases were taken from over 100 graves.
Police believe the thefts occurred within the last 30 days and they say it is probable that these vases were stolen for their scrap value. The vases, which are approximately 14 inches high and four inches wide, are valued at $350 each.
