MADISON (WKOW) -- The Wisconsin State Journal reports the University of Wisconsin-Madison is set to hire Utah State's Gary Andersen as its next head football coach.
The newspaper cites a source close to the UW football program, saying it's a done deal.
The UW Athletic Department has not commented.
Andersen would fill the role left by former coach Bret Bielema, who left Wisconsin to take the same job at the University of Arkansas.
The Badgers defeated Andersen's Utah State team 16-14 earlier this year at Camp Randall when the Aggies missed a 37-yard field goal attempt with 6 seconds remaining.
Andersen led Utah State to an 11-2 record this season. Utah state is coming off a 41-15 blowout win over Toledo in the Potato Bowl.
An official announcement from the UW is expected either Thursday or Friday.
