MADISON (WKOW) -- Rain, snow, sleet and hail aside, the blizzard forecast to hit southern Wisconsin this week may slow mail service at a crucial time of the year.
A local representative for the U.S. Postal Service says they're planning on delivery as usual, but they'll also double check on conditions Thursday morning.
Customer relations coordinator Karen Cronin says if they can't deliver mail tomorrow, they'll add extra shifts Friday and Sunday.
She says they'll do what they can to get as much mail out as possible.
"Christmas Eve is a delivery day for us as well, work as usual. So we will be able to get those packages out in time for Christmas," said Cronin.
She says it'll also help your mail carrier if you clear snow and ice from your sidewalks, stairs and mailboxes.
