WAUPUN (WKOW) -- A new scholarship will honor a Dodge County soldier who gave her life for her country.
The Rachel Bosveld Scholarship of Honor will be given to a graduating senior at Waupun Area High School.
Bosveld was the first woman from Wisconsin killed in the Iraq war 9 years ago.
Family members say the scholarship helps keep Rachel's legacy alive.
"She was always the child who was doing things for other people so this will continue, hopefully, that others will understand that and continue on doing what she did," says Rachel's mother Mary.
The $1,000 scholarship will be given to a senior who plans to enlist in the military or seek a career in public safety.
