MADISON (WKOW) - Madison firefighters say many of the city's fire hydrants are still buried with snow from last week's storm.
They're urging residents and businesses to help clear the snow and ice from around fire hydrants near their property. Firefighters say there should be a minimum of three feet around the hydrant to give them room to work.
While you're clearing snow around hydrants, if you see one that's damaged or has water flowing into the street, call the Water Utility's emergency dispatcher at 266-4661.
