MADISON (WKOW) -- Governor Scott Walker approves a nearly $8 million project for the Dane County Regional Airport.
The $7,721,544 construction project is for a new maintenance building that will store the airport's snow removal equipment. The project will begin in January and is expected to be completed by November 2013.
The state will pay for $500,000 of the project. Dane County will pay $1,092,182 and the Federal Aviation Administration will fund the rest, $6,129,362.
Dane County Regional Airport consists of three paved runways, parallel taxiways, aircraft parking ramps, a terminal building, parking facilities and an FAA control tower. There are four commercial airlines serving the airport.
