MADISON (WKOW) -- Early last Saturday morning, Madison police took up a tactical position outside of a residence in the 2100 block of Westbrook Lane for a woman with a gun "going crazy".
Officers were able to focus on the front of the residence and took the suspect, 46-year-old Essie Braxton, into custody.
Braxton's husband of eight years, and the victim in this incident, described waking up to a 38 Special revolver pointed at him. He says he was confronted about some text messages on his phone that she had viewed.
Braxton proceeded to smash the phone and pull the trigger on the gun.
The gun didn't fire, and the victim managed to get it away from Braxton. He removed all the bullets in the fully loaded weapon.
The suspect threw pots and pans at her husband, then decided to leave the residence. Braxton got into a vehicle and began ramming the vehicle behind hers.
No injuries were sustained.
Braxton is charged with disorderly conduct while armed and criminal damage to property.
