FITCHBURG (WKOW) – The Red Cross is helping a Fitchburg family after a garage fire Saturday night.
Firefighters responded to a garage fire at a duplex around 7:30 p.m. on the 2900 block of King James Way.
Authorities said no one was injured in the fire. According to the Fitchburg Fire Department, a middle school aged child was playing video games in the basement at the time of the fire. The other six members of the family were not home.
Officials said investigators are working on the cause of the fire.
Red Cross put the family up for the night and provided them with clothing and food.
