WISCONSIN DELLS (WKOW) -- Two giraffes were killed during a fire at a Wisconsin Dells wildlife park.
The Wisconsin Dells Police Department received a 911 fire call shortly before 6:00 p.m. Sunday. The caller reported a building burning at the Timbavati Wildlife Park.
The Kilbourn Fire Department was dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, they found the giraffe enclosure building fully engulfed.
Two male giraffes, both four years of age, died in the fire. The building is completely destroyed.
Police say they are investigating the cause and have no reason to believe the fire is suspicious.
According to the park's site, it features exotic animals, rides and other attractions. It also allows visitors to feed the giraffes.
It was closed for the season.
