PASADENA (WKOW) -- No one was more disappointed in Tuesday's Rose Bowl loss than the Badger Football team.
27 Sports spoke with some of the players in the locker room after the game. Quarterback Curt Phillips says "I had a lot of fun playing, and it was something I just didn't want to regret, and I don't."
UW Senior Defensive Back Shelton Johnson says, "The way the season's going so far, it's like the season wasn't supposed to end like that. I guess the way we fought back, we fought back in this game, it was supposed to end in our favor and it just didn't."
Badger running back Montee Ball had 100 yards in the game and one touchdown. He told us after the game, "Obviously it sucks. It's not a good feeling. It stings, it hurts. because we had this game. The offense had many opportunities to capitalize and we didn't. That's what hurts the most because the game was in our hands, plenty of times to score."
Barry Alvarez came back to coach the team when Bret Bielema announced he was leaving to coach Arkansas. The UW Athletic Director said, "You're at midfield with 2 minutes left and a chance to win the Rose Bowl. I felt like maybe we were a team of destiny. Curt's run the 2 minute offense pretty well, even did it well the first half of this game. So I just felt somehow we would find a way to score. That's what my thinking was."
