MONONA (WKOW) -- If you are considering home schooling as an option for your child, the Monona Public Library is holding a workshop in a couple weeks.
It's a part of the library's parenting workshop series and it's to give parents and children the basics of home schooling. The workshop is being held on Monday, January 14 at 6 p.m.
Dolores Kokinos, founder of The Empowerment Café, will present at the workshop. She has home schooled her kids for 10 years.
Kokinos says she will uncover the false myths about the negative social impact of home schooled children, provide resources within the community and outline the different approaches to home schooling.
Parents and children are welcome to come. Kokinos says there will be time for a Q&A.
Registration is required. If you are interested you can register online, by calling 608-222-6127, or in person at the Monona Public Library, located at 1000 Nichols Road.
