Madison Streets Division sends reminder

MADISON (WKOW) --  Madison Streets Division will be conducting snow removal operations on several streets Monday and Tuesday.

The streets have been posted with bright orange No Parking signs.  Vehicles that do not comply with the restrictions will be towed.

Streets slated for Monday snow removal are as follows:

  • 600-1100 blocks of E. Gorham Street
  • Castle Place
  • 400 block of N. Patterson Street - both sides
  • Prospect Place
  • Washburn Place
  • 400 block of N. Livingston Street

Tuesday, snow removal will be as follows:

  • 600 and 700 blocks of S. Baldwin Street - both sides
  • 1300-1500 blocks of Morrison Street - both sides
  • 600 and 700 blocks of Rogers Street - both sides
  • 700 block of S. Thornton Avenue

Additional streets may be selected for snow removal later in the week.

Along with the snow removal, residents are reminded to dig out their carts, Christmas trees and brush from snow banks to insure material will be collected.

Madison recycling coordinator, George Dreckmann, says "We always encounter problems with carts and other items being buried in snow banks at this time of year."  He went on to say, "we need help from residents in removing items such as Christmas trees, branches, carts, and furniture from the snow."

Dreckmann says, "We will not be able to collect refuse and recycling in these areas unless carts are dug out of the snow."
