DUNKIRK (WKOW)-- Two people are being treated for injuries after a car rear-ended a garbage truck near the intersection of Pleasant View Drive and Main Street in Dunkirk.
Dane County deputies say the operator of the garbage truck was pinned between the two vehicles for 45 minutes. The operator was flown by Med-Flight to UW Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The second injured person was the driver of the car. They were the only person inside the car and are now being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Deputies haven't been able to determine the exact cause of the crash, but neighbors in the area tell us they believe that speed may have been a factor.
27 News reporter Gordon Severson was at the scene this morning and will have the latest information in 27 News at 6 and 10, on WKOW Saturday evening.
