PRAIRIE DU CHIEN (WKOW) -- Police release the names of those involved in a fatal accident near the Wisconsin-Iowa border.
The crash happened Sunday afternoon on U.S. 18 in Crawford County near Prairie du Chien. Wisconsin State Patrol says one person was killed and four others were hurt.
Investigators say Lorraine Catherine Siegenthaler, 73, of McGregor, Iowa was heading west on Highway 18 crossing the Mississippi River when she crossed the center line into the path of an oncoming minivan. Siegenthaler was killed.
The driver of the minivan, Roberta Lear, 43, of Prairie du Chien, has what police describe as life-threatening injuries. She was taken to Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse. Her passenger, Judith Cornwell, 68, of Steuben, was taken to Prairie du Chien Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Two children in the minivan had minor injuries.
