
MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- An off-duty Milwaukee detectives shoots a teen suspect during an attempted armed robbery.
Police say the detective was approached by a suspect who had a gun and demanded valuables from the officer Sunday evening. The detective pulled out a gun and shot the suspect, who ran from the scene.
Police say later, the suspect went into a nearby grocery store for help. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Authorities report the suspect was in stable condition Monday.
Police say the suspect is a 17-year-old Milwaukee resident.
Police say the case will be referred to the Milwaukee County district attorney's office for charges.
