MADISON (WKOW) -- Dane County Humane Society will provide services for three Rock County communities in 2013.
The cities of Beloit, Janesville and Edgerton approved and signed animal contracts with DCHS for 2013. DCHS says it was approached by the three cities because they needed help with their impounded and stray animals.
DCHS will now care for additional animals at their Voges Road shelter this year. The shelter says the additional animals from Rock County will have no impact on the high level of services DCHS currently provides to Dane County residents and the animals of Dane County.
The shelter will provide the cities with similar services for impounded and stray animals to those provided to Dane County. Animals that require emergency care will also be seen by DCHS' emergency care partner, Exceptional Care for Animals, in Madison.
