MADISON (WKOW) -- A Middleton man, caught up in West Beltline rush hour traffic Wednesday morning, ended up the victim of road rage.
The 48-year-old man was in an eastbound lane on the West Beltline near Whitney Way when he slowed down due to traffic ahead.
Another vehicle was directly behind him and the driver became angry. That driver, a male in his 40's or 50's then began tailgating the victim.
That man then quickly switched lanes, pulled alongside the victim and pulled out a handgun.
The Middleton man says the driver then pulled in front of him and slammed on the brakes. Realizing this was a very dangerous situation, the victim sat back in traffic and allowed the other driver to pull away.
The suspect is described as a white male, average build, driving a red, 2-door hatchback, possibly a Ford Fiesta.
