WATERTOWN (WKOW) -- A company in Watertown is recalling about 2,500 pounds of raw ground beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli.
The recall comes from Glenn's Market and Catering. It involves various size packages of ground round, ground chuck and ground beef sold between Dec. 22, 2012, and Jan. 4, 2013, only from the company's retail meat case in Watertown.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service and the Wisconsin Division of Public Health have identified three patients with a strain of E. coli in the state. All three reported eating raw ground round.
Officials and the company are concerned that some product may be in shoppers' freezers.
E. coli can cause dehydration, diarrhea and abdominal cramps.
