MADISON (WKOW) -- Wisconsin senior quarterback Curt Phillips has been granted a 6th year of eligibility by the NCAA, allowing the QB to play the 2013 season. The news came out when the Wisconsin athletic department tweeted a congratulations to Phillips' account on Thursday afternoon.
Phillips recovered from three knee surgeries to take over the starting quarterback job at the end of the 2012 season. He started five games, including the Rose Bowl game. He sat out all of the 2010 and 2011 seasons with injuries.
