MADISON (WKOW) -- A defendant in the attack on Montee Ball pleads guilty in the case and is referred to a first offender's program.
As part of a plea agreement, Deonte Wilson, 21, was referred to a first offender's program on charges of disorderly conduct and obstructing an officer. If he completes all the requirements of the program, the charges against him will be dropped. If he doesn't, he would be sentenced on those charges.
A charge of disorderly conduct carries a maximum sentence of 90 days in jail and a fine of up to $1,000. A charge of obstructing an officer carries a maximum sentence of nine months in jail and a fine of up to $10,000.
Two previous defendants were also let into the first offender's program. Police are still looking for the fourth suspect, Karlis Griffin.
MADISON (WKOW) -- One of the suspects charged in the attack on Montee Ball will be sentenced Friday.
Deonte Wilson, 21, has a plea and sentencing hearing scheduled for Friday morning. He's charged with Substantial Battery with Intention to do Bodily Harm.
Badgers Running Back Montee Ball was beaten up on University Avenue in August as he walked home. He suffered a concussion from the attack.
UW students Wendell Venerable and Robert Wilks were already sentenced in the case. They were placed in a first offender's program.
Meanwhile, a criminal complaint has been filed against a fourth suspect in the attack, stating Karlis Griffin, 27, stomped on Ball's head. The Wisconsin State Journal reports Wilks and Venerable identified Griffin as a participant.
Griffin has not been arrested yet. There's a warrant out for his arrest.
