GALLATIN, TN (WKOW) -- Thursday afternoon, a traffic stop was conducted on a BMW SUV, with Wisconsin tags, for a violation on I-65 in Sumner County, Tennessee.
Investigator Jason Ghee, of the 18th Judicial Drug Task Force Highway Interdiction Team, observed the driver to have an injured hand. There also appeared to be blood on his clothing. A subsequent inquiry resulted in the discovery of a firearm in the vehicle.
While Investigators were conducting further investigation a "BOLO" (be on the look out) was broadcast on the police radio. The BOLO gave a vehicle description matching the vehicle Investigator Ghee had stopped. It also stated the driver was wanted for questioning in relation to a homicide that had recently occurred in Wisconsin.
Upon further investigation, it was revealed the subject Ryan G King (45) had active warrants for a murder that had just occurred in Racine. King was taken into custody without incident.
The weapon and vehicle were seized pending further investigation. King was transported to the Sumner County Jail where he was booked for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and being a fugitive from justice.
Wisconsin authorities are seeking extradition.
