UPDATE: Possible fatal hit-and-run accident in Madison

MADISON (WKOW) -- Authorities released the identity of the man who's body was found lying in the road on the city's east side on Sunday night.

The Dane County Medical Examiner's Office identified him as 66-year-old Aryle J. Dahlke of Madison.

Preliminary autopsy results show Dahlke died of blunt force trauma to the head and neck.

Dahlke's body was found around 7:30 p.m. Sunday night on Portage Road. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Police are asking for anyone with information to call Crimestoppers at 608-266-6014.

MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police are investigating a possible hit-and-run that killed a man Sunday on the East side.

The Wisconsin State Journal says around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report of a man found laying in the road on the 2300 block of Portage Road. The victim had head and neck injuries. Madison police Lt. Cory Nelson says he was rushed to UW Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim did not have identification on him, but Nelson says he was between 60 and 70 years old. The cause of the investigation was not officially determined Sunday night, but authorities say it appears to be a hit-and-run incident.

Police are asking for anyone with information to call Crimestoppers at 608-266-6014.
