BELOIT (WKOW) -- The suspect in a cemetery vandalism in Beloit has been arrested.
Beloit police say Kristopher Kaehler was arrested by police in Roscoe, Illinois around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Officers say Kaehler will be taken to the Winnebago County Jail until he can be returned to Wisconsin.
Court records show Kaehler is charged with felony criminal damage to a cemetery and theft.
BELOIT (WKOW) -- In late December 2012, the Beloit Police Department initiated an investigation into thefts of cemetery grave vases and military markers.
The items were stolen from East Lawn Cemetery. As a result of the investigation, the police department has secured an arrest warrant for Kristopher Kaehler.
Kaehler is described as having blonde hair and blue eyes, approximately 5'10" and 200 pounds. Kaehler is a resident of Roscoe, Illinois.
The felony warrant charges Kaehler with criminal damage and theft over $10,000 to a cemetery.
The Beloit Police Department has since recovered 181 vases and 112 military grave markers from area scrap yards.
