Despite two double-double performances, Badger women fall to Iowa


AMES, Ia. (WKOW) -- Despite double-double performances from both Jacki Gulczynski and Cassie Rochel, the UW women's basketball team fell to Iowa 71-60 Thursday night.

Individual Notes

Junior Cassie Rochel scored a career-high 17 points and also tied her career high with 14 rebounds to record her third career double-double and her second this season.

  • Sophomore Jacki Gulczynski also had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. It was the first time since Feb. 23, 2012 that the Badgers have had two players with a double-double in the same game. It was her fifth career double-double, all coming this season.
  • Junior Morgan Paige added 14 points for UW.
  • Senior Tiera Stephen dished off eight assists for the second-straight game.


Team Notes

  • The Badgers turned the ball over only 12 times for the second straight game.
  • After getting outrebounded 45-25 in the first meeting this season on Jan. 10, the Badgers were outrebounded 36-33 this game.
  • Wisconsin loses its 11th straight game to the Hawkeyes.
  • UW falls  to 9-11 overall, 1-6 Big Ten
