MADISON (WKOW) – Attorney General J. B. Van Hollen has named a high-ranking Milwaukee police officer as the state Division of Criminal Investigations' second-in-command.
Milwaukee Assistant Police Chief Patrick Mitchell will take over as DCI's deputy administrator on Monday and will make $97,000 per year.
Mitchell began his career as a police officer in Milwaukee in 1985 and has served as assistant chief since June of 2011.
Mitchell will replace Dave Matthews as DCI. Matthews was promoted to division administrator in October.
